No one really knows much about it. All we know is that we all need it and can’t live without it.

Just some of the things you might hear if you ask what L.O.V.E feels like.

So, one day, I’d like to be married. To a man. A wonderful man.

I’d also like to be proposed to in a very unforgettable way. I’ve heard of a few engagement stories, some more grandiose than others. To be proposed to is special ENOUGH…someone choosing YOU to spend the rest of their lives with???!! That’s huge. But to have a very awesome proposal is like the cherry on top of the icing on top of the cake!

I was thinking of the many different ways that I’d like to be proposed to…I have quite a few *dreams*. This one, to me, is ultra romantic!

Ok, so I’m coming home (or over his house if we don’t live together, which is probably more the route I wish to take, since I believe that should be saved…but I digress…) from a long day of teaching and I am just exhausted. I walk into the house and the living room is all candlelit. Soft music is playing, preferably some Sade. I call out his name, but I get no answer. I walk further inside and notice a very LARGE box on the living room table. There’s a card for me. Of course I’m wondering what the present is for, but I don’t care. I open up the big box only to find that there is a smaller box inside. I open this box to find that there is an even smaller box inside. I’m very anxious at this point. I open up the final box to find a very small Tiffany blue box. I open this box, but there’s no ring inside. Suddenly, he steps out of nowhere and says “You have to say yes first” and he’s holding the ring in his hand.

I think I just died.

Is this not the most ROMANTIC display of affection ever???? A little cheesy?? Maybe for some, but it”s just peeeeeerfect for me, Captain Cliche. *Sigh*

Cheating. A simple word with BIG meaning. This word evokes many feelings: hurt, anger, excitement, sadness, confusion, anxiousness, regret.

When you’re the cheater, you may have thoughts that “no one will ever find out” or “I don’t love him/ her” in order to validate your reasoning for either starting up this charade or continuing it. When you’re the cheat-tee, you have thoughts of “why wasn’t I enough?” or “why doesn’t he/ she love me anymore?”. Either way, it’s an unfortunate situation. Someone ALWAYS ends up getting hurt. People have this misconception that if they don’t get caught, no one gets hurt. Wrong-o. Even if you never get caught in the act, your actions will reflect your infidelity. You may think your habits are consistent or that you are not exhibiting feelings of emotional withdrawl from your partner, but the other person always knows. Sometimes, it’s not a feeling you can explain…you just *know*. It’s usually the ones that think they’re SO smart that end up making the careless mistakes. Here are a few:

• Switching Up Your Routine – now all of a sudden you working late? Unavailable all the time? No one is THAT busy. Do better.
• “Emotional Check-Out”- you forget to maintain a reasonable interest in your old partner because you’re totally consumed by the excitement of your NEW partner.
• Bad Alibi- your stories are conflicting OR you fail to have any story at all. If you’re going to lie, try your best NOT to insult the intelligence of your lover.
• Showing Off In Bed- where the hell you get these new moves from? You wasn’t doing that last month….
• Spending More Time On Appearance- since when do you take longer than ME to get dressed?? Fishy dude…fishy.

The best course of action would be to simply refrain from cheating at all costs. It’s not worth all the emotional hoo-ha. If you’re unhappy in a relationship, just end it, then be free to go your merry way. Don’t bring unnecessary drama into a situation. Relationships are dramatic enough.

Once in NY, and after a very gross subway ride and looong walk, we arrived at our destination 15 minutes before showtime. The line to get into the park was cuh-razy! For some reason, me and my girl thought that by standing near the security, we could flash our very charming smiles and get right to the front. Negative. We contemplated going to the back of the line until we realized that we could not SEE the back of the line because it wrapped all the way around the park! Capacity was 5000, and there was easily 10,000 people in the damn line. My friend’s suggestion to skip the line had me kinda freaked, ESPECIALLY since we stuck out like a sore thumb…me with the most obnoxiously BRIGHT pink tank top and her with this really BIG curly hair! LOL. Comical. We skipped it anyway…and of course, some hater had the balls to say ” ummm, the back of the line is ALL the way back here”. We politely looked at her, said “oh, really??ok”, and got behind her anyway.

*Note: If I had been waiting in line for HOURS and two lil bishes cut the line, especially to see Chrisette, I would have physically FOUGHT them. Just thought I’d acknowledge my tro action. However, no one or nothing was stopping me from seeing this damn concert.

So anyway, we’re totally geeked because we’ve done the impossible. We’re so close to the stage we can smell the DJ’s breath. First out…Miguel. And I swooooon to his “All I Want Is You”. He is super adorable and sounds just like the record. He was a very pleasant surprise because I had no idea he would be there. Egypt from WBLS was one of the hosts and Salt (minus Pepa) came out and performed Kirk Franklin’s “Stomp”. Weird.

Tamia SHUT IT DOWN with her performance and definitely is still relevant even though she hasn’t had an album since 2007 (she actually has a new album dropping 2011!! Yay!).

Mario came out and put on a show for the teens and cougars in the audience. He’s a good singer, but the sex appeal is just NOT there for me. Sorry.

Chrisette was AWESOME. She looked so adorable in her get-up…she sung a few songs, could have definitely sung A LOT more. She left the stage, and people started to clear the park, ONLY to come back out with a special guest…Ricky Rozay. They performed a song together, then Chrissy dipped and Ross performed for a bit.

All in all, the experience was PERFECT. My chipped big-toe from my feet being stepped on was well worth it!

So while frolicking around NYC, hunger pangs started to control my being. I made a very FORTUNATE discovery on 225 East 60th Street between 2nd and 3rd Avenue.

Serendipity is a quaint little restaurant that was made famous by the the self-entitled movie. Once inside, you are temporarily side-tracked by a bit of weirdness…dolls that have “x”s where their eyes should be, random t-shirts and charm bracelets, squishy toys (for lack of a better explanation), etc. It’s very “tight” inside, tables close to one another, lots of mirrors and obnoxious light fixtures made of hanging pearls, weird dolls hanging from the ceiling, and of course, a huge framed picture of the movie on the wall.

Do Not Be Alarmed. And please, DO NOT leave this establishment.

The food here is awesome. Those charred buffalo wings (appetizers) are probably THEE best thing they have to offer. But nothing can compare to their signature drink : The Frrrrrozen Hot Chocolate.  This is a chocolate lover’s dream. I felt like I had died and gone to some very awesome place that MUSTA been better than Heaven because they served frozen deliciousness.

CAUTION: Picture IS as delicious as it appears.

He’s the epitome of every sane girl’s “type”…tall, black as hell, and handsome. Is he the “end-all-be-all”? Absolutely not. But his looks are pretty righteous. Being all tatted up only adds to the mystique. The only reason that I watch “The Ultimate Catch” is to hear him say “chile please” (which is kinda gay, but on him, I’ll accept) and flash those pearly, not-so-straight, whites.

Now, I know Chad is considered to be NOT so modest and he definitely plays by his own rules, but WTF is up with this?!

I am DEF not off this pixie! I don’t even know where to start with this one. This is a libido-buster for sure. If I had a penis, it would definitely be soft at this point.

I need Chad to take LESS pictures like that and MORE like this. Mmmm…Houston, we have lift off…BOING!

So yesterday, a really great friend of mine was talking about the movie “The Sweetest Thing”. She was ranting and raving about how it’s THEE funniest “chick flick” she’s ever seen. She asked me if I’ve ever seen it and of course I scowled at her while shaking my head furiously “no”. She said that I was missing out, and I didn’t pay that ANY mind because this is the same person who told me the movie “Julie and Julia” was AWESOME…

So, today, I’m channel surfing and what a co-inky-dink…”The Sweetest Thing” is on HBO (it’s also on demand this month!!). I immediately call her and alert her. Of course she’s super excited because she’s queer that way, and she proceeds to invite me over her apt to watch WITH her while vegging out on white chocolate chip cookies and chocolate ice cream (diabetes here I come!). I oblige her, the whole time just knowing that this is going to be a very bad flick.

Boy was I wrong (and I’m NEVER wrong…I’m peeeerrrrrfect )

This was one of the funniest movies I have EVER seen in my entire 21 years….ok…26, but whatevs…

From the very beginning, I was laughing-out-loud! Christina Applegate was absolutely hilarious! Cameron Diaz was the main character, and she was funny as well, but Christina MADE this movie! Now, I know what you’re thinking, especially if you’re a guy. But PLEASE, I beg of you…if you enjoy stomach-hurting, doubled-over, teary-eyed laughter, then you must watch this movie. Everyone has HBO On Demand, just order and watch. If you don’t have HBO, kill yourself. Then revive your dead body and ORDER it in haste!

I promise, promise, promise, you will not regret it!

I’m definitely NOT an “dog person”…actually, I’m not an “animal person” period.  I’m afraid of anything that crawls, barks, meows, spins webs, buzz, chirp…you get my drift. HOWEVER, I’ve had the recent sudden urge to have this Maltese pup. I could love him. He would be able to do everything but get in my bed (I draw the line here…dog hair on my sheets is a no-no). I’m sure he costs more than I can afford right now, but damn, he’s sooooo cute! I’d exhaust my bank account for him I think….

*Note- I only watch these vids with two people in particular….both are super silly like myself…they don’t judge me. So, if you must watch with a partner, make sure they’re more ignorant than you. Lol (j/k…but not really….bbm serious face)

I’m a lucky girl for soooo many different reasons, and my friends are definitely one of the reasons! These girls are there for me through it all…the good, the bad, the drunk, the CRAZY (cuz ya’ll know I’m a nut)…just everything! And where would I be without my daily dose of “real-talk” from the realest women in my life…these are more than my “friends”, these are my sisters.
